Governor Bong Lacson lauded the Provincial Council for Women (PCW) and the Provincial Gender and Development Focal Point System (PGFPS) for leading the successful celebration of Women’s Month in Negros Occidental, during the 2023 National Women’s Month Culmination Program held at the Capitol Social Hall, Friday (March 31).
He also thanked all sectors who actively participated to make the month-long celebration a success.
The organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and performers of key women’s month events were also recognized during the program.
Board Member Rita Gatuslao, chairman of the SP Committee on Women and Family, Marie June Castro, PGFPS Action Officer, and PCW officers and members, among others, were present at the activity.
Gov. Lacson said he hopes that all women stakeholders and partners will not cease in pursuing the province’s initiatives of recognizing the rights of women, building an environment that provides equal opportunities for all, and equipping women with skills to be able to participate fully in a globally competitive economy.
“Be assured that the present Provincial Administration shall continue to create and uphold programs and policies with regard to good practices and measures in the pursuance of gender and development,” he added.
The winners of the Inter-Office Information Board on Women’s Role in Development and Nation Building Contest were also named at the culmination program.
The top three winners were Provincial Treasurer’s Office, Provincial Assessor’s Office, and Provincial Information Office.
