Gov. Bong Lacson led the distribution of the TUPAD payout of wages to 43 beneficiaries in Murcia, today.
The TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
Each beneficiary received a payout of P4500 or 10 days worth of wage at 450 pesos per day. The beneficiaries worked for four hours per day and were assigned to clean/clear road shoulders and public facilities particularly the maintenance of the MRF.
The TUPAD funds distributed today came from the Office of Sen. Joel Villanueva and are allocated to the following barangays in Murcia: Blumentritt, Buenavista, Cansilayan, Iglau-an, Lopez Jaena, Minoyan, Salvacion, San Miguel, Zones I, II, IV and V.Also present during the distribution are Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko, Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas, Vice Mayor Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura and PESO Negros Occidental Head Sharon Juance.#AbanseNegrense
