The 22nd Provincial Tourism Week opens today at the Ayala Malls Capitol Centrale in Bacolod City, with the theme, “Rethinking Tourism“.
The activity is spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Tourism Division headed by Provincial Tourism Officer, Cheryl Decena, and participated in by all 32 LGUs of the province.
Board Member Rita Gatuslao, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, together with Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Alberto Nellas, Jr. Provincial Environment Management Officer Atty. Julie Ann Bedrio, and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, among others, led the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the exhibit.
Each of the 32 towns and cities of the province will be showcasing their products, tourism destinations, arts and culture, and investment opportunities at the exhibit throughout the week.
Today’s opening ceremony started with a thanksgiving mass, followed by the exhibit opening and short program. This year’s Tourism Week is slated Sept. 19 – 23, 2022.
