The Provincial School Sports Council held a meeting at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, yesterday (Feb. 20), attended by DepEd sports coordinators and educators in the province.
Governor Bong Lacson, DepEd Negros Occ. Schools Division Superintendent Anthony Liobet, and Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlo Agustin, among others, were also present at the meeting.
The council discussed updates on the conduct of sports activities in the province, as well as the schedule of the Congressional Meet 2023, Provincial Meet 2023, Palarong Pambansa 2023, and Sports Clinic.
Gov. Lacson said that sports training is an integral part of youth’s development and instrumental in physical fitness development, and in mental and psychological health.
The governor also stressed the role of the sports council in empowering and enabling Negrense athletes.
“The kinesthetic genius of our athletes will not be able to reach its full potential unless, we, their enablers will usher and guide them properly,” he said.
