The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) approved the P87 Million worth of Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) for endorsement to the Provincial Development Council for inclusion in the 2020 Supplemental Annual Investment Program (AIP), during the 4th Quarter Joint PPOC and PADAC Meeting, today.
Governor Bong Lacson presided over the said meeting held at the Capitol Social Hall, attended by Vice Gov. Jefferey Ferrer, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Dept. of Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Negros Occidental OIC, Evelyn Vista, and council members.The council also approved the P31.1 M worth of various barangay infrastructure projects funded through the 2020 PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNan (PAMANA) Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) under a Tripartite Agreement between OPAPP, DILG and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, for endorsement to PDC for Supplemental AIP, as well.
Also present in the meeting were 303rd IB Commander, Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Administrator, Police Colonel Romy Palgue who presented their agency’s respective projects and accomplishments in line with the province’s peace and order endeavors.Other members of the council including town and city mayors of the province, attended the said meeting via Zoom.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Provincial Office also reported about updates on the drug-cleared barangays; Board Member Juvy Pepello also gave an update on the on-going programs and projects of the Liga ng mga Barangay, while the Provincial Health Office presented about COVID-19 updates in the province.
