WATCH. Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson welcomed PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, who visited the province this afternoon for a command visit at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, Provincial Consultant Albee Benitez, Negros Occidental Board Members, local chief executives, NOCPPO Director Police Colonel Romy Palgue, together with other police officers and staff, and other guests joined the governor in welcoming the PNP Chief.
As part of his visit, Gen. Eleazar led the ceremonial ribbon cutting and unveiling of the NOCPPO Kapanalig Oval and Recognition Wall; witnessed the presentation of PNP equipment, donated and loaned by the LGUs of Negros Occidental; and led in the awarding of outstanding PNP personnel of NOCPPO.
Gov. Lacson said that it is an honor to welcome to the province the PNP Chief, and that the day’s activities are all proof of the synergy and sound collaborative partnership between the provincial government and local government units with the PNP.
“Your presence today will definitely inspire and boost the confidence and morale of our troops here in Negros Occidental, given the complexity and challenges of their present task,” said the governor.
Gov. Lacson said that given the present circumstances and seeing how the pandemic unfolds, people can reasonable presume that the present crisis will not end as soon as desired by everyone, thus, the expectation of a protracted taxing job of the PNP.
He also told NOCPPO Director Col. Palgue and all PNP personnel that their service, which at times were rendered beyond the limits of endurance is deeply appreciated.
