PhilRice Negros Director Ommal Abdulkadil met with Governor Bong Lacson at the Capitol today and handed the Certificate of Seed Allocation for the Provincial Government, as part of a shared commitment to advancing rice farming in the province by ensuring access to high-quality rice seeds for local farmers to boost rice production.

Under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Seed Program, Negros Occidental will receive 118,592 bags (at 20 kg per bag) with an estimated coverage area of 54,676 hectares for the 2025 Wet Season. For the 2026 Dry Season, 76,128 bags (at 20 kg per bag) will be allocated to the province, with an estimated coverage area of 35,096 hectares.
