The Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) has announced the Top 12 Provincial Government offices, departments, and hospitals, which are compliant with RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
The Provincial Capitol Solid Waste Management Task Group led by Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, spearheaded the conduct of the Local Search for the Best Office/Hospital compliant with RA 9003 for this year.
Jose Aldwin Legaspi, Supervising EMS of PEMO and Vinci Raymundo of DENR-EMB, Negros Occ. led the awarding of the Top 12 finalists held at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City on December 16, 2022.
The Top 12 finalists are Food Terminal Market of Negros Occidental (96%), Ignacio L. Arroyo, Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Isabela (95%), Mambukal Resort (95%), Negros Occ. Scholarship Program Division (96%), Office of the Provincial Administrator (95%), Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (97%), Provincial Assessor’s Office (97%), Provincial General Services Office (96%), Provincial Human Resource Management Office (95%) Provincial Information Office Division (98%), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (98%), and Valladolid District Hospital (97%).
The PEMO SWM is led by Dr. Eriberto Madalag; the members and evaluators are Sheila Joan Bautista, Ria Dada and Rodolfo Sapalo.The program is related to the new SWM Program of the province, the Kapitolyo Solid Waste Management Educators (KaSE).
The monitoring and evaluation period of the SWM practices and innovations of all offices and provincial government-run hospitals in the province started on November 28 until December 12, 2022.
