The Philippine Councilors League – Negros Occidental held a Year-end Summit and Assessment in the cities of Silay and Himamaylan, with Governor Bong Lacson as the guest of honor.
The activities were held in the said LGUs Friday and Saturday (Dec 4 and 5).Gov. Lacson said that he truly appreciates the hard work and commitment of the legislators of the province as their jobs have gone tougher with the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic.
“In the midst of struggles and challenges brought about by the pandemic, a higher level of expectation was lodged on elected officials, and it is rightfully so, for we have the solemn responsibility and accountability to rise according to the circumstances no matter the difficulty,” he said.
Gov. Lacson also said that the summit is a fitting platform to explore ways on how local legislators can find united and innovative measures to address the present challenges.
The activity is themed, “PCL-NEGROS OCCIDENTAL TRANSCENDING: Unity, Resilience, and Innovativeness Above and Beyond Crisis”.PCL – Negros Occidental is headed by its president, Board Member Ryan Gamboa.Other officers are Julius Martin Asistio, vice president; Rey Cordova, secretary general; Julie Ann Vasquez, treasurer; Miguel Zayco, auditor; Audie Malaga, P.R.O.; Virgie Pastor, business manager; and Board of Directors Armando Alvarez, Rolin Meliton, Elizabeth Andrino, Janet Villafranca, Lorlan Evangelista, Mikaela Escalante, Victor Michael Javellana, and Vicente Perez.
