Provincial Consultant on Energy and Environment Concerns (PCEEC) and former Governor Rafael “Lito” Coscolluela will speak on “Speeding Up an Island-Based Green Power System: The Case of the Province of Negros Occidental” on the second day of the ASEAN Clean Energy Week (ACEW2022) conference on November 14-15, 2022 at The Bellevue Manila.
He is also a panelist on the discussion on “Adaptability and Stability: Enhancing the Supply Capacity of Green Power to Customers” on the first day, with panelists from Shell Energy Asia, Vivant Corporation, and Quantum Power Asia. It will be moderated by the USAID Southeast Asia Smart Power Program Director for Advanced Energy Systems MK Balaji.
He will share his insights from the findings of the Negros Occidental Power Sector Assessment Study (NOPSAS) team he has been supervising and currently completing their report for submission to the governor.
Coscolluela, appointed by Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” V. Lacson in April 2021 to the consultancy, promised to work on ways to advance the Green Economy in Negros connecting the goals of food, water, and power security for long-term sustainable development.
Since 2016, the ASEAN Clean Energy Week has been Southeast Asia’s most influential event and go-to forum to understand the evolving state of the ASEAN photovoltaic (PV) market and identify new opportunities for cooperation.
In the 2022 event, featured policy regulators include Senate Chairman of the Energy Committee Senator Win Gatchalian, Department of Energy Secretary Rafael P.M. Lotilla, Energy Regulatory Commissioner (ERC) Chair Atty. Monalisa Dimalanta, as well as other policy regulators in ASEAN countries.
