Governor Bong Lacson attended the forum on Economic Prospects for Negros Island Region hosted by the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), which aims to unlock private investment opportunities in the newly established region.

The event held at Citadines Bacolod City, this morning, focused on NIR’s economic prospects, opportunities in agribusiness and entrepreneurship, and investment potential in real estate and infrastructure development.

Gov. Lacson cited that the conference is a testament to the momentum that the provinces of NIR are building.

“As leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, we must act decisively and collaboratively to ensure that the Negros Island Region becomes a model not just of progress, but also of inclusivity. Let us embrace this new period with optimism,” he said.

“With approximately 4.3 million Negrenses, the establishment of the NIR, along with its own Regional Development Council and Regional Technical Working Team, will improve the efficiency of basic service delivery, accelerate economic growth, and drive social development,” he added.

Present at the event were Negros Oriental Governor Manuel Sagarbarria, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez, MBCCI President Atty. Juliana Carbon and Vice President for Governmental Affairs Frank Carbon, among others.*
