WATCH. NEGROS OCCIDENTAL RECEIVES 90 MILLION FROM NHA

The National Housing Authority (NHA) turned over P90 Million worth of financial assistance to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, intended to help rebuild the damaged houses brought about by Typhoon Odette that left a number of Negrenses homeless.

Governor Bong Lacson and Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz received the assistance in a ceremonial turn over held at the Capitol Social Hall, this afternoon, with NHA Region 6 Chief Corporate Attorney, Atty. John Leo Solinap and Negros Occidental District OIC Engr. Liezl Miquit.

The city and town mayors, vice mayors, and representatives of the affected LGUs were also present at the turn over ceremony.

Gov. Lacson said that for almost two weeks after Typhoon Odette brought devastation, the need to rebuild the 190,868 partially damaged houses and 65, 871 totally damaged houses is urgent.

The governor thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and the NHA for the timely response to the dire need of the people to restore their homes.

He also urged the local chief executives to continue to enhance coordination and have a systematic distribution of aid so that everyone affected will be able to receive the assistance they need.
