NEGROS OCCIDENTAL CONVENTION CENTER SOON TO RISE IN SILAY

Gov. Bong Lacson, 3rd District Rep. Kiko Benitez, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, and DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo, DPWH Region VI Director Engr. Sanny Boy Oropel, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Negros Occidental Convention Center (NOCC) in Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City, this morning.

The activity was attended by Negros Occidental officials, Bacolod City officials, DPWH key officials and other guests.

The structure is strategically located near the city’s major road and with major establishments and will be the first government convention center of international design standards in the Negros Island.

It will be a two-storey building that will function as a venue for local or international conventions and other events, and can accommodate 6,200 people in its function halls and VIP rooms.

Gov. Lacson said that the center will foster economic growth, create jobs, boost local businesses and tourism, and increase cultural, social, and educational events and exchanges.

“May this notable development inspire us to accomplish many more remarkable milestones, securing the progress and development of our province,” he said.*#AsensoMetro3rd#ugyonsilaynon#AbanseNegrense
