The Negros Occidental Provincial 10-Year Solid Waste Management (SWM) Plan, together with the 10-year SWM Plans of the seven LGUs of the province were approved by the National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC) during the final deliberation held last week at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.

The presenters were Provincial SWM Focal Person Sheila Joan Bautista, CENRO Designate Armela Waldato of Himamaylan City, MENRO Reynalde Horegue and SWM Focal Person Engr. Agnes Glia Mabag of Moises Padilla, MENRO Designate Eduardo Florendo of Candoni, MENRO Designate Juliet Grace Tingson and SWM Focal Person Ricky Gulmatico of Ilog, MENRO Designate Jert Tamon of La Castellana, MENRO Designate Robinson Egualan of Don Salvador Benedicto, and MENRO Designate Mila Lourdes Tandoy and Executive Assistant to the Mayor Federico Infante of Pulupandan.

Governor Bong Lacson was present at the activity, together with Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson Jr. of Himamaylan, Mayor Ray Ruiz of Candoni, Provincial Environment Management Officer Atty. Julie Anne Bedrio, PEMO Supervising EMS Jose Aldwin Legaspi, and Program Management Division Head Dr. Eriberto Madalag.

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) DENR VI headed by Nidalyn Agsaluna together with Engr. Victor Thomas Ureta provided technical assistance and support to PEMO and the LGUs.
