WATCH. Distribution of P100,000 cash assistance to Negrense centenarians in the cities of Bago, Himamaylan, and Kabankalan and the municipalities of Hinigaran and Ilog.
Another 13 Negrense centenarians received P100,000 each in a door-to-door distribution of cash assistance led by Governor Bong Lacson in the cities of Bago, Himamaylan, and Kabankalan, and the municipalities of Hinigaran and Ilog, today.
Among the centenarians were Irene Mundo, Soledad Ortega, Adelina Failago, Concepcion Torrefranca, Felipa Billanes, Conchita Torpe, Catalina Librado, Eufronia Meneza, Segundo Maravilla, Ma. Consolatriz Alberio, Eufemia Aguilos, Alberto Paglinawan, and Victoria Salazar.
Aside from the cash assistance, the beneficiaries also received Centenarian Award certificates, which were also personally handed to them by Governor Lacson.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office OIC Merle Garcia and staff assisted in the distribution that was also witnessed by Sixth District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Councilor Andrew Torres, Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo and Vice Mayor Teresita Gabrido, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson, Jr., Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslo and city councilors, Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr. and city councilors, Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez. The governor expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries and their families, and local officials for the warm welcome to their town and their homes.
He said he is happy to see Negrenses who have reached 100 years old and are still healthy, because life expectancy worldwide is usually below 100 years.
