Negros Occ. Gov. Bong Lacson, Victorias City Mayor Javier Benitez, and Negros Occ. Drug Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (NODRFI) president Atty. Adelaida Rendon signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of the Special Drug Education Center in Victorias City.

The MOA signing was held at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol, this morning, and witnessed by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Chiqui Gonzales and OIC Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Anna Marie Lucasan, among others.

SEDC is a community-based facility, which will serve as a venue for promoting preventive and developmental services for out-of-school youth and street children to keep them away from the harmful effects of drug abuse, thereby contributing to their total development as self-reliant and socially responsible members of society.

As stated in the MOA, the province shall create a governing body to be headed by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office which shall manage the operation of the SDEC in partnership with NODRFI. #AbanseNegrense
