LGU representatives and other stakeholders attended the Cascading Workshop on Technical Working Group (TWG) Formation and the 2023 – 2030 Negros Occ. Provincial Integrated Water Security Plan (PIWSP), held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, today.
According to Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, the activity aims to integrate the approach to water security in the province, which will enable the development and implementation of holistic solutions that address multiple water-related challenges simultaneously, such as water scarcity, pollution, habitat degradation, and public health risks, resulting in comprehensive and long-lasting improvements in water security.
Gov. Bong Lacson said that the initiatives and activities on water security in the province are proof of the Provincial Government’s determination and resolute commitment to promote water security with a systematic, scientific, and sustainable approach, anchored on the USAID Safe Water’s Integrated and Inclusive Water Security Framework and the Sixth Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations Development Program.
