Gov. Bong Lacson and Mayor Miguel Peña led today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the rehabilitation and improvement of Pulupandan Public Market Phase 1, located in Brgy. Zone 7, Pulupandan.
The P32 million project, funded by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, has a total floor area of 1,328 sq. m. and will feature two types of rentable stalls – 25 sq. m. and 17.5 sq. m., respectively, with height provisions for mezzanine extension.
The new market aims to provide a quality, efficient, and effective public market for the benefit of all stakeholders involved and as part of supporting local businesses.
Gov. Lacson said that the new market will change the physical and economic landscape of the town, which will eventually open more investment and tourism opportunities.
Also present at the activity were Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, and Pulupandan Vice Mayor Anthony Gerard Suatengco and other local officials, among others.*
