WATCH. GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR NEW SILAY CITY GOVERNMENT CENTER HELD
Today, Governor Bong Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, and Silay City Mayor Mark Golez led the groundbreaking ceremony and laying of the time capsule in the P1 billion Silay City New Government Center in Hacienda Maquina, Barangay Rizal.
The city’s new government center will be built on a 6.5-hectare property donated by Rob Jalandoni’s family, at the said site.
Gov. Lacson said that the bigger and better seat of government for the City and for all the Silaynons will not only provide better services but will also stir a new growth area for the city, and will also be a tangible representation of the city’s pride and progress.
“The role of government must also evolve according to the needs of time, and that if there is anything recent events emphasized, it is the need for the proper planning, monitoring, and coordination of the government’s actions,” said the governor.
He also lauded the leadership and initiative of the local officials of Silay, and expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Jalandoni family for their continued generosity.
Third District Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko, Silay City Vice Mayor Thomas Maynard Ledesma, ABC President Henry Belleza, Brgy. Rizal Punong Barangay Julius Cordero, and Mike Valderrama, who represented the donor’s family, were also present at the event.
