Governor Bong Lacson signed a memorandum of agreement with the Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital in Manapla for the accommodation of indigent patients needing orthopedic procedures not covered by Philhealth and the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP).

The signing was held at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol, today, and was witnessed by Dr. Ramon Aguirre and Negros Occidental Board Member Agustin Ernesto Bascon.

As stated in the MOA, the high costs of orthopedic supplies and procedures not covered by the state provided health insurance leave indigent Negrosanons in dire need of financial assistance, and that the hospital will address such need by providing free orthopedic procedures to five indigent patients a month.

It was further stated that the hospital shall exclude professional fees in billing the province and shall not require the same as out-of-pocket expense for the referred indigent patients.*Capitol News
