In a meeting Thursday, September 10, 2020 with the governors and the two mayors of the highly urbanized cities of Western Visayas, the local chief executives unanimously selected governors, Bong Lacson and Toto Defensor of Iloilo, to be the ones to bring the region’s concerns to the National IATF in relation to the guidelines and policies laid out by the national body to Western Visayas LGUs.

It was noted that the local chief executives of the province and the region disfavor the recent Operational Guidelines on the Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs), that states that ROFs shall no longer be subjected to local health protocols by the receiving LGUs.
