Governor Bong Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer led the inauguration and turnover ceremony of the school building at La Carlota City College in La Carlota City yesterday morning.
La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalando-on, together with Sangguniang Panlungsod Member Josefina Jalandoni, chairman of the SP Committee on Education, College President Dr. Virgie Rendon, and Provincial Engineer, Ernie Mapa also joined yesterday’s event.
The activity started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, blessing of the building, unveiling of the marker, and followed by a short program.
Gov. Lacson said that the inauguration of the new school building is a welcome development in the provincial government’s goal to enhance and strengthen the educational system.
He also said that it is of greater significance in light of the challenges that the country’s educational system recently encountered during the pandemic.
The governor also lauded the school administration, faculty, and staff for their dedication to the education of the Negrense youth.
“I hope that this edifice of learning will stand for many years, as an instrument to impart the light of truth, knowledge, and wisdom to our fellow Negrenses,” he said.
