The financial assistance, which is for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program, will be for the 40 literacy volunteers, 3,694 ALS learners, 15 Special Education (SPED) literacy volunteers, and 928 SPED learners, while the laptops are intended for use of teachers.
The turn over ceremony was held at the Capitol Social in Bacolod City.
The projects were funded through the Provincial School Board (PSB). Negros Occidental Schools Division Superintendent, Marsette Sabbaluca, thanked the Provincial Government for the educational projects through the PSB, that ensures continuity of learning despite the present pandemic.
Gov. Lacson said that he hopes that the projects will be used for its purpose and that more teachers will receive more educational projects in the future.
Meanwhile, Board Member Juvy Pepello, who represents the Liga ng mga Barangay – Negros Occidental, also distributed USBs that contain anti drug-abuse campaign materials for the students.
Present in the activity were Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, ALS Coordinator Yolly Salem, SPED Coordintaor Carmelita Segara, and the district school supervisors, among others.
