Governor Bong Lacson turned over a check worth P2.5 Million to Atty. Pauline Nuega, president of Power Foundation, Inc. for the scholarship of 125 students who will take up Welding NC I and Cookery NCII infused with Basic Japanese Language for two months.
The scholarship is aimed at providing skills training and preparing qualified Negrense applicants for the huge demand of Filipino workers to work in Japan in the construction and food industries.
Gov. Lacson said that he is very happy that Power Foundation is helping the Provincial Government in training quality workers and giving them opportunities to work in Japan.
He said that he will continue to support programs that will give employment to Negrenses.
Present at the turn over were PFI Director Amelyn Bravo, PFI Board Secretary Alan Nuega, and Negros Occ. Scholarship Program Head, Karen Dinsay.
