The officials from National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) called on Governor Bong Lacson at the Capitol, Tuesday. They are Asec. Gabriel Chaclag and Atty. Randy Serrano BuCor, Alex Aquio of NEDA Region VI, BJMP Region VI Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Director Gilbert Peremne, and BJMP – Negros Occidental Head, Supt. Mary Rose Laguyo.
The group conducted a site visit at Brgy. Tabunan, Bago City for a proposed satellite center for reformation of PDLs (persons deprived of liberty) in Western Visayas. This is a result of an earlier resolution by the Regional Development Council – Region 6 asking the national government to decentralize the National Bilibid Prisons and establish a branch in the region so that WV PDLs need not be remitted to NBP in Metro Manila and for ease of visit by their families, thus facilitating their reformation.
Also joining them are Negros Occ. Police Provincial Office Director, Sr. Supt. Romy Palgue, Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal.*
