Governor Bong Lacson lauded the 51 Sangguniang Kabataan Units in the Province of Negros Occidental recognized for Ideal Functionality based on the 2022 SK Functionality Assessment (SKFA).

The awarding ceremony was held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, Saturday (Aug 12), in the presence of SK Provincial President, Board Member Pocholo Yuvienco, and DILG Negros Occidental Director Teodora Sumagaysay, among other guests.

The SKFA assessment team is composed of the DILG Negros Occidental, Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan, Provincial Youth and Development Office, and other partners.

The governor advised the SK members to always take to heart the purpose, vision, and hopes behind the creation of Sanggunian Kabataan, which is to promote and protect the physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being of the youth.

“On the part of the Provincial government, we will always endeavor to create an enabling environment for positive youth engagement to empower the leaders of tomorrow, today,” he said.#AbanseNegrense
