WATCH. GOV. LACSON JOINS LAUNCHING OF SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCE EXHIBIT
Governor Bong Lacson graced today the launching of the Sustainability and Resilience Mall Exhibit at SM City Bacolod, and expressed his support to the company’s initiative for the protection of the environment.
The governor was with SM Prime Holdings vice president for Operations – Visayas Michelle Llanos, SM City Bacolod Mall Manager Anthony Jardiolin, and Provincial Science and Technology director Allan Dara-ug, among others.
SM City Bacolod launched the said exhibits highlighting the sustainability and disaster resilience initiatives of SM Prime Holdings and the Department of Science and Technology, that will run until March 20, 2022.
The exhibit features the watercolor chapter illustrations of known local artists Ebdon Sevilleno, Tiano Beto, Maymay Camarines, Obee Canlas, Vicky Gasper, Ryn Paul Gonzales, Ramon delos Santos, and Svet and Tey Sevilleno.
Gov. Lacson said that environmental governance to be truly effective must include and unite stakeholders, including the private sector, non-government entities and local communities into what would otherwise be an exclusive undertaking.
“As governor of the province, I acknowledge the contribution of SM to our progress, and I am pleased to know of the company’s efforts and initiatives for Sustainability and Disaster Resilience through SM’s Green Movement,” he said.
He thanked SM Prime and SM City Bacolod for the initiative to support and empower sustainable communities.
“The concern of our environment is a problem of global proportion but reducing its adverse impact must be done locally,” he added.
