Governor Bong Lacson swore in the new officers of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Negros Occidental led by its council chairman, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson, Jr., yesterday.
The induction ceremony was held at the BSP Headquarters along Lacson Street in Bacolod City.
Gov. Lacson lauded the BSP officers and members for being consistent with their goals for the common good and in the implementation of various programs that benefit communities.
According to the governor, the present challenges are different from that of the past but he is confident that the scouts will always uphold the lessons, skills, and values they have acquired through scouting, in all and every situation.
He also said he hopes the Boy Scouts will continue to be a vital force and influence in the lives and character-building of the Negrense youth all over the province.
“May all of you continue to use your individual and collective gifts, talents, and skills anchored on the Scout Oath and Law, for the greater good, for the good of humanity,” he said.
The BSP officers thanked Gov. Lacson for his support of the organization.
