GOV INSPECTS SOLAR IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN HIMAMAYLAN

Gov. Bong Lacson visited the P7.9 million Tara Solar Powered Irrigation System in Brgy. Carabalan, Himamaylan City and inspected its ongoing operations yesterday (October 16).

The said project was officially turned over to the Tara Agrarian Reform Cooperative earlier this month, which aims to provide an efficient, reliable, and sustainable irrigation solution for farmers, reducing dependency on grid electricity and fossil fuels.

It consists of 168 polycrystalline solar panels that can generate 57 kilowatts and provide an efficient and sustainable means of irrigation up to 24 hectares of farm area.

The irrigation system has an inverter, an irrigation pump, and solar panels to acquire and convert sunlight into electricity.

5th District SP Board Member Anton Occeño, Himamaylan City Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson, OIC Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Dina Genzola, and Carabalan Brgy. Captain Mildred Titular, among others, joined the governor.*
