Gov. Bong Lacson met with the officials of the Embassy of the Republic of the Phils in Tokyo, Japan to discuss the programs of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental in partnership with the Japanese Government and some Japanese organizations.
Gov. Lacson discussed possible collaborations in the areas of increasing silk worm production, technology transfer on rice and sugar, and human resource development with embassy officials led by Dita Angara-Mathay, Special Trade Representative for Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Tokyo, Japan.
Rep. Mathay also assured the Governor that the Philippine Embassy will support the ongoing programs of the province in Japan including new engagements in Toyama Prefecture.
Joining Gov. Lacson was the Negros Occidental delegation composed of Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II, DILG Provincial Director Teodora Sumagaysay, Executive Assistant to the Governor and PIO Charina Magallanes-Tan, Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay, NOLITC Administrator Dr. Ma.
