Gov. Bong Lacson Files Certificate of Candidacy.
GOV LACSON: OUR EFFORTS SHOULD BE FOCUSED NOT MUCH ON POLITICS BUT ON HOW TO OVERCOME THE PANDEMIC
As Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) yesterday, October 1, 2021, he said that the efforts of the officials of the province should be focused not much on politics, but on how to overcome and survive the pandemic.
“I filed my COC this first day of filing so that I can get back to work as soon as I can. There are so many things to be done,” he said.
The filing of COCs was held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, where the Provincial COMELEC temporarily holds office.
“Vice Gov Ferrer and I filed our COCs today, together with the Board members to show our unity as officials of the province. Our current situation requires unity among leaders. Our efforts should be focused not much on politics, but on how we can overcome and survive the pandemic,” said Gov. Lacson.
According to him, time is constant, and incumbent officials don’t have the luxury of using time for anything else other than doing their job properly and judiciously for the province and the people.
For the past weeks, more mayors and local officials have reaffirmed support for the re-election of Gov. Bong Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, as they aim for the continuous implementation of the Abanse Negrense Development Agenda in the province, which according to them is proven effective in bringing countless developments amidst the pandemic.
“To my beloved people of Negros Occidental, for the past years, I have served you to the best of my capabilities as your Governor. Today, I submit myself to you as I seek to serve you for another term, and I hope that together, we shall overcome this pandemic and achieve all our aspirations as a people together,” said the governor.
All candidates who filed their respective COCs followed health and safety protocols, which were strictly implemented at the venue.
