GIS TRAINING WORKSHOP. The Provincial Administrator’s Office conducted a training-workshop on the use of Geographic Information System (GIS), with the staff of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, held at Negros Residences in Bacolod City, today.
The training-workshop was spearheaded by Ericson Alarcon, GIS Specialist under the Special Project Unit (SPU) of the Provincial Administrator’s Office.
The activity is specifically focused on Spatial Enhanced Data for agriculture programs and projects, and the use of specific criteria for field data collection.
The tool is also big help in data collection, monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of OPA’s programs and projects.
OPA Head, Dr. Edmundo Raul Causing, highlighted the importance of learning and development activities for the OPA, being partner implementer of the provincial government’s reforestation program.
Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said that the present administration of Gov. Bong Lacson is very supportive and committed on its vision to set direction to PGNO’s programs and projects that are scientific based.
He also said that geo-tagging and mapping must be fully maximized to implement the programs and projects of the provincial government effectively and efficiently.
