The implementers, partners and stakeholders who have supported the Gender and Development (GAD) programs of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental were recognized during the Appreciation Ceremony for the 2020 Provincial Gender Journey, as part of the two-day GAD Stakeholders’ Conference – Workshop held at the Capitol, today.
Governor Bong Lacson, Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz personally handed the certificates of appreciation and tokens to recognized offices and individual awardees.
The activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Gender and Development Focal Point System, led by its action officer and Executive Assistant to the Governor, Marie June Pavillar-Castro. The conference-workshop was held to help ensure substantive GAD accomplishment reports and a truly gender-response programs, projects and activities, especially during the height of the pandemic and in the implementation of the new normal.
It was also held for the provincial government’s GAD implementers and stakeholders to have a venue to share their successes and challenges, and learn from the experiences of other GAD practitioners. The activity also acknowledged the role of the media in women empowerment and gender equality, and in the promotion of GAD programs.
