Governor Bong Lacson and Fifth District officials led the inauguration of another District Animal Health Center in the Municipality of Hinigaran, today.
The animal center project, implemented through the Provincial Veterinary Office, was established to ensure effective and efficient delivery of veterinary services to the public, and provide animal health care and related services.
Joining the governor at the inauguration of the facility were Board Members Rita Gatuslao, Anton Occeño, and Andrew Montelibano, Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo, Hiamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson, Isabela Mayor Irene Montilla, Provincial Veterinary Office OIC, Dr. Placeda Lemana, and District Veterinarian, Dr. Maria Regina Gawan.
The facility’s primary responsibility is to carry out programs, projects and activities required to sustain the development of the province’s livestock and poultry industries.
To prevent and control domestic and animal diseases in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, the services available at the animal center include veterinary consultation, medical treatment, deworming, vitamins supplementation, laboratory tests, and surgery-castration.
A Memorandum of Agreement was also signed by Gov. Lacson and the local government of Hinigaran, stating the joint undertaking between the province and the partner LGU.
