Governor Bong Lacson joined Kabankalanons yesterday, September 8, 2022, for the blessing of the New St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Kabankalan City, officiated by Bishop Louie Galbines, Bishop Patricio Buzon, and Bishop Julito Cortez.
Among other guests at the event were Sixth District Rep. Mercedes Alvarez and Fifth District Rep. Dino Yulo, Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Kabankalan City Mayor Benjie Miranda and Vice Mayor Miguel Zayco, former Mayor Pedro Zayco, La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan, and Himamaylan City Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao.
Gov. Lacson said that the celebration is also a celebration of community, and not just the physical building.
“Today is a testament that dreaming big, especially when circumstances are formidable, is truly an act of faith,” he said.“Today’s gathering to invoke God’s blessing upon his magnificent new church, also signifies the indomitable spirit, enduring hope, and unwavering faith of the people of this parish,” he added.
