Governor Bong Lacson led the turnover of gilts and piglets to livestock raisers of the Fourth District of Negros Occidental on March 15, 2023 as part of the Negros Occ. Typhoon Odette Livestock & Poultry Rehabilitation Program.
It is a joint project of the Dept. of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 6 and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the Provincial Veterinary Office.
The activity was held at the Youth Center, Central Philippine State University (CPSU) Valladolid Campus in Brgy. Bagumbayan, Valladolid attended by the beneficiaries from the Fourth District LGUs, Fourth District Board Members Jose Benito Alonso and Andrew Martin Torres, Valladolid Mayor Enrique Miravalles, OIC Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Placeda Lemana, and guests from DA Region 6.
The Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosk was also launched at the CPSU Valladolid Campus, as part of the program.
Gov. Lacson thanked DA for the continued support of the agricultural programs of Negros Occidental and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members for approving the provincial government programs for the betterment of food security and agricultural productivity in the province.
He also thanked CPSU for being an advocate of agricultural education in the province.
