Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson welcomed the participants and guests of the 14th Philippine Shrimp Congress during the opening ceremony held at SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City, this morning.
Gov. Lacson said that with the help of new production and processing technologies, the shrimp industry has been able to maintain its competitive edge and penetrate new markets locally and abroad.
“Though we are truly grateful for the continued success of the shrimp industry, sustainability is essential to its long-term success,” he said.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Rep. Camille Villar, who represented Sen. Cynthia Villar, 2nd District Rep. Alfredo Marañon III, and City Administrator Atty. Pacifico Maghari III, representative of Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, among others.*#AbanseNegrense
