BRIEF HISTORY
2004
There was a reorganizaton of the province; Management of the hospitals from Provincial Health Office was transferred to Economic Enterprise Development Department.
2016
The Province of Negros Occidental created the Hospital Operations Department; A reorganization was done and the management and supervision of the hospitals of the province were transferred from Economic Enterprise Development Department to Hospital Operation Department.
March 2021
The management of the two hospitals Calatrava Municipal Hospital and Vicente Gustilo District Hospital were turned over to their respective LGUs.

There are nine (9) province owned and run hospitals under Hospital Operations Department. One Hospital Command, Special BAC 2 and Consignment Program are also under the HOD.
