Governor Bong Lacson led in the turn over of crop insurance claims, today, to some of the farmer-beneficiaries enrolled in the Negros First Universal Crop Insurance Program (NFUCIP), who come from the different cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental.
For this month, a total of 3,296 farmers will receive a total P16,002,605 worth of indemnity claims under this program, according to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

NFUCIP aims to address the gaps in the agriculture sector and climate change that have been adversely affecting the crop production and threatening the province’s food security.
OPA record show that as of May 2020, a total of P52,679 Negrense farmers with a total of 60,818.5 hectares are already enrolled in the program.
