Barangay health workers (BHWs) from the cities of Kabankalan and Sipalay, and the municipalities of Candoni, Cauayan, Hinoba-an, and Ilog, convened for the 6th District Barangay Health Workers Congress yesterday, December 2, at the Candoni Sports Complex.
The event, organized by the Provincial Health Office, is part of a province-wide initiative aimed at recognizing the vital role of BHWs as frontliners in delivering essential healthcare services and disseminating health information within their communities.
Governor Bong Lacson, along with 6th District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola and Candoni Mayor Ray Ruiz, led the distribution of cash incentives to the BHWs, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and service.
This gathering highlights the province’s commitment to empowering its health workers, who play a pivotal role in advancing community health and well-being across Negros Occidental.*
