Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson and Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Mary Ann Maestral signed a Memorandum of Agreement designating the Corazon Locson Montelibano Memorial Hospital as the Apex Hospital within the province’s Health Care Provider Network, aiming to fully implement Universal Health Care for the residents of Negros Occidental.
The ceremonial MOA signing was held yesterday (Oct. 23) at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol.
Under the agreement, the partnership aims to ensure comprehensive health care delivery from primary to tertiary levels within the Province of Negros Occidental. It manifests the continued support to work towards realizing the full implementation of Universal Health Care for all Negrenses.
Also present at the MOA signing were DOH NIR Regional Director IV Dr. Razel Nikka Hao, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Alberto Nellas, Jr., Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ma Girlie Pinongan, OIC Medical Center Chief of CLMMRH Dr. Joan Cerrada, alongside municipal and city health officers and chief of hospitals.
The recently signed agreement reaffirms the collaboration to meet access standards for health facilities in alignment with the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan, wherein people shall have access to a primary care facility within thirty minutes of travel time and to a hospital within one hour.*
