Tourism officers from the different towns and cities of Negros Occidental attend the 2nd Quarter Tourism Officers’ Meeting for updates status reports of the province’s tourism sector.
The meeting is held at the Capitol Social Hall, today, spearheaded by Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena.
Gov. Bong Lacson said that there’s a good progress in the tourism activities this year, including the comeback of the Panaad sa Negros Festival.
“Responsible tourism must be included at the core of our endeavors and we must capitalize on sustainable tourism practices that protect our province’s ecological balance and cultural legacy,” he said.
The governor acknowledged the tourism officers’ unwavering dedication to the growth and development of the tourism industry.
He also urged them to embrace creativity and innovation, leverage the present digitalization, and develop special and distinctive experiences for both local and foreign tourists that will set Negros Occidental apart from other destinations.*
