Governor Bong Lacson led the groundbreaking ceremonies of the abattoir (slaughterhouse) projects in San Carlos City and the Municipality of Toboso, on May 10, 2023.
Both projects will be established through the Department of Agriculture-led Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), and funded by the World Bank, National Government, and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental.
Both the San Carlos Abattoir and Toboso Abattoir will be completed and start to be operational next year.
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, OIC Regional Executive Director of DA Regional Field Office 6, Engr. Jose Albert Barrogo, and Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, among others, were present at the blessing and laying of the time capsule for the San Carlos City Abattoir.
Meanwhile, Toboso Mayor Madonnah Jaojoco, Vice Mayor Ma. Luisa Dela Cruz, SB Members Richard Jaojoco and John Paul Dela Cruz, Engr. Barrogo, and Engr. Mapa, among others, also led the groundbreaking ceremony for the same project in Toboso.
