Seven Negros Occidental LGUs received an incentive fund worth P7 million each from the DILG during the Turn Over of the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund and Regional Roll-Out to Eligible LGUs of Negros Occidental held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City yesterday afternoon.
The recipients are the cities of Talisay, Silay, Sagay, San Carlos, Himamaylan, Bago, and the Municipality of Hinobaan.
Governor Bong Lacson lauded the LGU awardees for their hard work, efficiency, and dedication to result-oriented public service, and their commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in government.
“To our mayors, your sterling leadership serves as an inspiration to everyone and is proof of the positive impact that one effective leader can have on his office and constituents,” said Gov. Lacson.
The activity was attended by DILG VI Regional Director Juan Jovian Ingeniero, DILG Negros Occ. Provincial Director Teodora Sumagaysay, Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, mayors, and LGU representatives, among others.
The SGLG-IF supports the implementation of RA No. 11292 and covers the financial subsidy to qualified LGUs under the Local Governance Performance Management Program.
The financial assistance shall be used for local priority projects or reforms that will help enhance transparency and accountability in all local government transactions, intensify the preparedness of LGUS against disasters, ensure the delivery of quality health services, and boost economic development, among others.
Gov. Lacson also thanked the Provincial and Regional DILG for their consistent help and guidance for the LGUs to meet the parameters of good governance.
