WATCH. Provincial KMME Annual Summit
Governor Bong Lacson acknowledged the initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in helping the micro, small, and medium enterprises find ways to improve their business environment as the province moves forward toward recovery from the pandemic and economic crisis.
The governor gave his message at the Provincial Kapatid Mentor ME and Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Annual Summit held at Park Inn by Radisson in Bacolod City, this morning.
The activity was also attended by Ermelinda Pollentes, OIC Regional Director of DTI VI, Rachel Nufable, Provincial Director of DTI – Negros Occidental, Mary Ann Colmenares, Provincial SMED Council and ANP vice president for Advocacy, among others.
DTI Usec. Blesilda Lantayona also expressed her support for all MSMEs through a video message.
KMME has been an avenue to boost MSMEs’ access to mentorship, money, and market, providing necessary entrepreneurial information for improving businesses.
The graduates of the KMME Program also shared their experiences through the mentoring process during the summit.
The governor also recognized the contribution of the MSMEs to the local and national economy and lauded the KMME graduates who actively participated in the program.
“As the cornerstone of our communities, MSMEs greatly contribute to our local and national economies and to sustaining livelihoods, particularly among the working underprivileged sector and groups in vulnerable situations,” said Gov. Lacson.
“The growth of your business and your development as an entrepreneur are the important keys to our common goal for resilient and inclusive growth,” he added.
Gov. Lacson also commended the DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship for the pioneering mentoring and coaching approach to scale up the capacities of MSMEs.
