Governor Bong Lacson lauded the Department of Information and Communications Technology for the success of the “Discover DICT Region VI” and for its digitalization interventions and partnerships that benefit the people, especially in the countryside.

The governor delivered his message at the ICT Literacy Competency and Development Bureau (ILCDB) Partnership Summit, held at Negros Residences in Bacolod City yesterday.

“The advocacy workshop, which aims to promote online freelancing and job opportunities to Filipinos from the countryside, and the ILCDB Partnership Summit, are the kinds of interventions we need to enable our people to cope and adapt well to the rapid and constantly evolving digitalization,” he said.

He said that he hopes the summit will be an effective venue to bolster the needed partnerships and collaborations with all stakeholders, the LGUs, civil society organizations, the private sector, and the academe.

Present at the summit were DICT Assistant Secretary for Upskilling, Jeffrey Ian Dy, DICT Region VI Director Jane Javellana, DICT Negros Occidental Head, Engr. Romeo Tome, Engr. Maria Hernando of the ILCDB, and Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Bacolod City, Rodel Parcon, among others.
