The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental in collaboration with the Dept. of Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a Civil Society Organization (CSO) Conference for the province held at Negros Residences in Bacolod City today.
Atty. Pierra Fuentespina – Lamayo of DILG – Negros Occidental discussed about the Relevance of Participatory Governance and Code-Mandated Avenues of Participation, while LGOO III Jun Christian Guardialao discussed the guidelines on LGU Accreditation and Selection of Representatives to LSBs and Local People’s Council.
In his message, Gov. Bong Lacson said that CSOs have long been established as one of the government’s indispensable partners for a more responsive and efficient governance, and in achieving society’s multifaceted development goals.
He said he acknowledges the support, contributions, and the valuable information from the ground up that CSOs provide to aid the decision-making process of the plans and programs of the government.
“I hope this conference will give us a renewed determination and zeal as we seek to strengthen our partnerships,” he added.
Also present in the activity were Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Planning and Development Office OIC, Anna Marie Lucasan, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary, Atty. Maki Angel Ascalon, among others.
