PEDIATRIC VACCINATION AGAINST COVID-19
Governor Bong Lacson witnessed the start of implementation of the Negros Occidental Pediatric Vaccination against COVID-19, today, at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City. A total of 77 children aged 12 – 17 years old with co-morbidities, from the different LGUs of the province, were vaccinated.
Board Member Ryan Gamboa, Provincial Consultant Albee Benitez, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, and Silay City Mayor Mark Golez also attended the activity and showed support to the vaccinees.
Also present were DOH Officer Dr. Elizabeth Altamira, TLJPH Chief of Hospital Dr. Mary Ann Maestral, Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, and Dr. Girlie Pinongan of the Hospital Operations Department, among others.
Gov. Lacson lauded the young individuals for taking the lead to be vaccinated against COVID-19; he also thanked the parents and guardians for their support.
He also assured that the province is on track and doubles its effort for the target population to get vaccinated.
The Provincial Government will also vaccinate comorbid minors at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City and Cadiz District Hospital at schedules to be announced later.
