An agri-fishery and exhibit dubbed as “LOCALLY SOURCED” Fair showcasing locally sourced and locally produced products opened today (Oct. 6) at The Atrium, Robinsons Place Bacolod.

Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson, together with OIC Provincial Agriculturist, Dr. Dina Genzola, Joseph Sian of Robinson’s Place Bacolod, and Gina Banowski of Mailum Organic Village Association, led the ribbon-cutting and opening ceremonies.

The exhibit, that will run until October 14, 2021, is in partnership with Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita, and Robinson’s Place Bacolod.

Negrense farmers and fisherfolks are selling fresh fruit and vegetables, organic food and other products, plants, and gardening essentials, among others.

“As a believer of the Negrense talent and product, I am certain that with proper enabling opportunities, our products can compete both in the national and global markets,” said Gov. Lacson.

He also said that under the Abanse Negrense Priority Development Agenda of the province, the primary goal under agriculture is to enhance the market potential of the farmers’ products so that their production will be enhanced by entrepreneurship.

“To our farmers and fisherfolks, your Provincial Government has your best interest at heart. We are going to do what we can to assist and empower you so that you will be able to reach your full potential, even in the thick of a pandemic,” said the governor.
