Negros Occ. Gov. Bong Lacson presided over a meeting that tackled the creation of the Provincial nCoV Task Force and reactivation of the Provincial Infectious Disease Action and Control Council (PIDACC), today.
The council integrates the overall preparedness and response of the province in addressing the threats of infectious and emerging/re-emerging infectious diseases in the province.
The meeting discussed the current situation of the nCoV in Western Visayas and Negros Occidental in relation to its global outbreak.
It also clarified the inter-agency coordination and other roles of the concerned stakeholders and the next steps in the management of nCoV.
According to the Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, as of today, the DOH has already recorded three patients under investigation (PUI) in the province.
Present in the meeting were Board Members Araceli Somosa and Tinto Bascon, Negros Occ. Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Hospital Operations Department head, Dr. Leo Eusebio, Provincial Disaster Management Program head, Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, chiefs of hospital of the provincial government-run hospitals, representatives from the PNP and DepEd, among others.
